It really can allow for us to get a vague idea of what type of person is drinking a particular type coffee, what their personality is and just who they may be. There are so many different types of coffees and they can all be suited to different personalities. From A-type go-getters to refined gentleman, or ladies with a sense of class. Heck, your coffee can really say a ton about what kind of person that you really are. So let’s explore this just a little bit to see what coffee says about different people.

Espresso: Generally a-type personalities enjoy the tangy jive of espresso. Sure it helps wake you up, and really allows for you to be mentally there. But you were there already, the coffee just enhances your perception.

Drip Coffee: Perhaps the norm for most coffee drinkers. You don’t need to have some specialty coffee that costs five bucks a cup. You are fine with good old fashioned, store bought brew. More power to you!

Gourmet Coffee: Okay, so you are a coffee snob. Is it really anyone else’s business? You sure don’t think so. You enjoy the finer things in life and you really enjoy that nutty and flavor-filled cup of brew. So what if you pay out the nose for it; you don’t mind.

Instant Coffee: You are so busy and working all of the time that you don’t have time to brew drip coffee, or stop at the coffee shop and wait in line. Next stop: The Moon. You have life by the horns, but still need your fix during your on-the-go mornings.

When most people have company over to their home they usually offer them some sort of a beverage. A commonly offered drink happens to be coffee. If you are looking for some easy ways to offer your guests coffee when they stop by your place to chat and catch up with you, there are some really easy tips that can be offered. Perhaps these five suggestions can better enable you to provide some caffeinated amenities for your guests.

1. Make the coffee ahead of time and ensure that you have all of the necessary condiments. Some guests will prefer black coffee while others will desire to add cream or milk, so make certain that you have these add-ons.

2. Offer sugar and sugar substitutes for your guests. Allow them to enjoy the ease of being able to choose between granulated sugar and sugar alternatives.

3. Try and prepare a substitute for coffee. While many people enjoying drinking coffee over a good conversation, it doesn’t always suit all people. By brewing some tea you can have another option to offer for your guests.

4. Make your coffee presentable. A nice tray with matching cups and saucers set out on it, a thermos to hold the coffee and small cream pitchers, as well as the necessary utensils, such as teaspoons, will allow for you to make a very presentable beverage tray for your guests.

5. You can always brew some iced coffee and some iced tea to really be able to offer a variety of beverages to choose from for your guests.

Many of us swear by the black and bubbly, frothy brew that comprises our morning cup of java. We also have several names for it, too: such as Joe, brew, morning juice and many others.

Major coffee chains have sprouted up from seemingly humble beginnings, taking over street corners across the US as early morning folks get their fix in. Major coffee chains have sprouted up from seemingly humble beginnings, taking over street corners across the US as early morning folks get their fix in. If you happen to be a neophyte for coffee, then you will most certainly agree with the following five reasons to keep on drinking it.

1. Coffee is good for your heart. Recent studies have shown that those who consume between 1-3 cups per day have a lessened risk of a stroke. So let your heart and taste buds tap to that beat.
2. Coffee combats diabetes, one of the top ten killer diseases in the US today. The antioxidants in it lower your risk of contracting diabetes by boosting the cell sensitivity to insulin.
3. Lowered risks of contracting Alzheimer’s disease and dementia have been studied for those who drink between 1-5 cups of coffee per day; the antioxidants are great for your brain.
4. It’s good for your liver. According to recent studies, people who drink a few cups of coffee per day enjoy lowered risks of contracting diseases like cirrhosis of the liver.
5. Java can help alleviate headaches. Especially in chronic headache sufferers, caffeine has proven to be very helpful. Most migraine medications contain caffeine just for this reason.

Antioxidants are important to anyone on a diet. To keep it simple, antioxidants help to protect the cells in our bodies from being damaged by free radicals that are produced when our bodies burn oxygen. Antioxidants help to counteract the oxidation process that happens within our body because we are constantly burning oxygen to live. One great source of antioxidants just happens to be coffee.

Coffee contains several naturally occurring antioxidants that can be beneficial to our bodies. Remember that coffee is roasted, so it does lose some of the antioxidants that are believed to have antiviral and antibacterial properties.
But the great news is that when coffee is roasted a whole new antioxidant is formed. That antioxidant is called the Maillard Reaction Product and it is very potent. Don’t worry about caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee, this doesn’t effect the antioxidants being formed in the roasted coffee.

What will affect the amount of antioxidants is the type of coffee you drink. Drinking a medium brew is going to have more MPR’s that a dark brew. This happens because when coffee is roasted it is done at very high heat. The longer the coffee is roasted the more antioxidants you lose. So try to stay away from the dark brews if you want a healthier cup of coffee.

Maximizing antioxidants in your diet is very beneficial for you. Roasted coffee can provide your body with the necessary chlorogenic acids you need to prevent damage to your cells from oxidation. Drinking coffee just got that much better.

In a world that is always trying to be more "green" there are some simple tricks that you can implement into your daily routine that can truly allow for you to contribute. Being environmentally conscious and actively working towards a healthier, safer planet is on the shoulders of us all as we move forwards towards a brighter future.

One such way that all coffee drinkers can do their part is by recycling their coffee grounds after they have percolated that fresh cup of java in their coffee makers. If you think that simply reusing your coffee grounds won't make that much of impact, think again. More than 400 million cups of coffee are made every day - that's a lot of coffee makers brewing Joe and a lot of coffee grounds that are tossed side, too!

One such way that all coffee drinkers can do their part is by recycling their coffee grounds after they have percolated that fresh cup of java in their coffee makers. If you think that simply reusing your coffee grounds won’t make that much of impact, think again. More than 400 million cups of coffee are made every day – that’s a lot of coffee makers brewing Joe and a lot of coffee grounds that are tossed side, too!

Here are 12 Tips on reusing coffee grounds to go green:

1. Use coffee grounds in your garden to fertilize your plants; the high acid content in coffee grounds makes them ideal as food for your plants.

2. Get rid of bugs by sprinkling the grounds near where the ants hang out with grounds, or anywhere that you find unwanted creepy crawlers.

3. Cats hate coffee grounds and by lining your garden with them you will effectively dissuade them from entering your precious green areas.

4. For all you fishers, adding grounds to the soil of the worms will actually keep your bait worms alive much longer.

5. Deodorizer: Coffee grounds can be stored in a small box, like baking soda, to keep the air fresh in your closet, freezer and fridge.

6. Fill pin cushions with coffee grounds.

7. Some people like to fix scratches on dark stained wood using coffee grounds; make sure the stains match before you do this.

8. Add the grounds to your favorite chocolate cake or brownies for a mocha taste like never before.

9. Rub them into your lustrous locks after you have shampooed and then rinse them away to add some serious shine and luster.

10. Coffee grounds are great for getting rid of nasty odors on your hands; just rub grounds around as you scrub your hands, then rinse them off.

11. The acid in the grounds can easily tenderize that NY strip steak and add a unique flavor that will leave your friends guessing.

12. Coffee grounds can also serve as a flea dip for your puppy. Shampoo and rinse, then rub grounds into their fur. Allow a few minutes for the acid in the grounds to do its work and then rinse away.

Brewing coffee in a Moka pot (stove top) is one of the oldest methods of making a cup of Joe. In fact, this method of brewing coffee is called espresso - which actually refers to a brewing method as opposed to a type of coffee, a mistake that many people make.

This method of espresso brewing actually forces hot water to pass through finely ground coffee and the water then brews it as it passes through the coffee grounds. It is a very different method than the traditional percolating process that most home coffee makers use today.

It is important to note that brewing coffee in a Moka pot does not always mean that you are making traditional espresso. By using larger sized grounds a Moka pot can also make normal coffee.

For espresso you will need to use very finely ground espresso blends to achieve the desired taste and texture. Contrary to popular belief that Moka pot coffee makers don’t make real espresso because it lacks the top golden foam, it’s actually the same brewing method. Since the method of brewing is identical, it therefore does quantify as being called an espresso brewing method.

If you are ready to get down with an older and delicious brewing method of making coffee by using a stove top Moka pot, these easy instructions will get you on your way to a fine cup of java.

1. The first thing that you will want to do is fill up the Moka pot using fresh water (preferably filtered to get the best tasting coffee) that is room temperature or cold. Make sure that you don’t fill it up past the safety valve, so you don’t overfill the Moka coffee maker.

2. Insert the basket into the bottom of the pot and then add the desired amount of coffee grounds that you want; use less for smoother coffee and use more for bitter coffee. Make sure that you do not pack down the coffee grounds.

3. Screw on the top of the coffee maker very tightly so that a seal can be created inside of it.

4. Using low to low-medium heat place the Moka pot on the stove.

5. Wait until you hear the sounds of the coffee gurgling in the pot before you remove it from the heat. Then carefully remove it from the heat. Do not remove the lid until it is finished brewing to avoid getting burned.

6. After the coffee is finished brewing, serve and add desired extra (milk, sugar, etc.). Enjoy!

Making frozen coffee drinks is not only fun but gets the creative mental energy flowing as well. Because of the virtually endless possibilities of flavors, add-ins, toppings, and extras, whipping up a batch of these delicious delicacies is easy and satisfying.
People who own coffee makers are well aware of the myriad recipes for cool concoctions. While some of the entries are old standards, newer, wilder varieties are popping up every day.

First things first. To begin, you will need a batch of your favorite coffee blend, made double strength. That's because nearly every frozen delight calls for strong brew. Coffee makers are an important tool for this first step, due to their precise measurements and automatic capability. While the coffee itself is brewing, you can prep all the other ingredients, thereby saving significant amounts of time.

People who own coffee makers are well aware of the myriad recipes for cool concoctions. While some of the entries are old standards, newer, wilder varieties are popping up every day.

First things first. To begin, you will need a batch of your favorite coffee blend, made double strength. That’s because nearly every frozen delight calls for strong brew. Coffee makers are an important tool for this first step, due to their precise measurements and automatic capability. While the coffee itself is brewing, you can prep all the other ingredients, thereby saving significant amounts of time.

Without listing all the frozen coffee permutations here, which would take at least five large volumes, the following should get you started, since nearly all cold coffee drinks have a similar foundation.

Mix your double strength, brewed coffee about three-to-one with milk, after having let the warm coffee sit for at least an hour. Of course, the milk is your call, whether you want to use skim, whole, organic, generic, goat’s milk, you-name-it. Most amateur coffee chefs avoid skim, though, because it tends to weaken the final result.

Add real or artificial sweetener to suit your taste. In Africa and Japan, it is common to use no sweetener at all. Indeed, variety makes the world go around. As for ice, a good rule of thumb is to use about two-thirds as much ice as you use coffee. Now toss everything into a blender, along with one or two teaspoons of vanilla extract per quart. Again, this effort is always a matter of taste.

After mixing to a frothy smoothness, the real fun begins. Pick your favorite spices, fruits, soft candies, or something nobody else has ever thought of, and add them to the mix. Cinnamon and chocolate are widely popular. Whipped cream, flavored or not, is another winning idea.

In Asia, marshmallows and sweetened fruit slices are favorites of the business set, while African farmers prefer raw chunks of sugarcane or carob.

Caffeine avoiders can use decaf as the base liquid and still enjoy the countless variations of this timeless, and tasty, treat. Historians tell us that cold coffee has been a popular beverage for perhaps 4000 years. Therefore, maybe Stone Age people were actually the first “coffee makers.”

The vacuum brewing coffee method was invented in the 1830s by Loeff of Berlin, but it became less popular in the 1960s when automatic brewers came on the scene. In the 1990s coffee aficionados brought the vacuum method of coffee brewing back into popularity. There are several different names given to the "vacuum brewing machines" including: siphon vacuum coffee, siphon coffee, vacuum brewed coffee or vac pots.

A vacuum coffee brewer has four components:
1. The bottom container into which you pour the water
2. The top container into which you put the coffee grounds
3. The siphon tube that connects the top and bottom container
4. The filter, where the liquid and vapor pass through

The vacuum brew system works on the principle of the contraction and expansion of gas (the hot water vapor). Once the bottom container is heated, water vapor is created and that vapor works as a catalyst to push the water up the connection tube, through the filter to the top container. Once the water has been moved to the upper container, the water vapor escapes through the siphon tube. This escaping vapor works to stabilize the temperature of the water in the top chamber. It typically takes between two to four minutes for the process to get completed.

Vacuum coffee brewers are part of the family of coffee makers which utilizes two separate chambers to produce vapor pressure and use it in a vacuum to produce a clear and delicious brew of coffee. These types of coffee makers have been used for over a century and were usually the main topic of conservations after meals due to their distinct appearance while coffee was brewed using these same vacuum pots. Take a look at some components of a vacuum coffee brewer in our article below.

A vacuum coffee brewer has four components:
2. The top container into which you put the coffee grounds

Once the heating process is complete, the water in the bottom container cools and contracts. This creates a vacuum and the suction pulls the liquid from the upper chamber to the lower chamber. Voila, the coffee is brewed!

Just like other coffee makers, vacuum pots come in different sizes ranging from pots that brew four ounces up to 48 ounces.

When vacuum pots were introduced they were heated up using a simple wick burner – those who hearken back to the original, still use wick-heated pots. Today’s vacuum coffee brewing pots can be used on the stove top or come with self-contained heating units with alcohol wick burners or butane burners.

Brewing coffee in a vacuum pot will take some trial and error to get your perfect cup, but they are a fascinating way to brew coffee! With more people opting to entertain at home and offer their guests a great cup of coffee following a home-cooked meal, a vacuum pot is as much a conversation piece as it is an appliance designed to brew an amazing cup of coffee. Your guests are sure to remember enjoying a cup brewed in a vacuum pot.
